Money
Tax, super, banking, sending money home, EOFY questions.
Tax File Number arrived today, hooray. But my employer's been taxing me at 47%?
Started work in February, gave my employer my TFN application receipt because the actual TFN took 6 weeks. Just got the TFN, gave it to payroll, expected things to normalise. Latest payslip — still 47% withheld. Apparently I'm on the "no TFN" rate until my form is processed in their system. Anyone else been through this? Do I claim the overpaid tax back at EOFY or is there a faster path?

Best bank for newcomers — ING vs Up vs CommBank?
Need to open my first AUD account this week. CommBank let me open one online before landing which was great, but their fees feel old-school. ING and Up both look cleaner and better app-wise. For people who've been here a year or two — which one do you actually use day-to-day, and which one would you not pick again if you could redo it?

Super fund — does it actually matter which one I pick on day one?
My employer's default is AustralianSuper. I keep reading I should "compare fees and returns" before agreeing but honestly I don't know what good looks like at all. Is the default usually fine for someone planning to be in Australia 5+ years? Or is this one of those "small choice that compounds into a huge difference" things I'll regret?
