How do you actually find recruiters that don't ghost you?
I've emailed about 25 recruiters in the past month. ~6 replies, 2 phone screens, 0 placements. They all start enthusiastic and then disappear once they realise I'm not on a 482 yet. How do you tell the recruiters who actually fight for you from the ones who are just CV-spammers? I'm starting to think the good ones don't advertise.

Got rejected for 11 jobs in a row before someone explained "local experience" to me
Background: 8 years backend engineer, two big-name companies in India, PR holder since January. I sent ~40 applications in two weeks and got 11 explicit "no local experience" rejections plus a wall of silence. Two things changed it for me: (1) rewrote my CV in plain Australian English (no "spearheaded synergies"), (2) started reaching out on LinkedIn to engineers AT the company before applying, asking 15-minute coffee chats. Got 3 interviews in the next 10 days. Posting in case anyone else is in week 4 of silence and thinking the problem is them. It's usually the CV.

Tradie qualifications from the UK — anyone done the VETASSESS skills assessment?
Qualified sparky (electrician) with 12 years experience in the UK. Looking at the migration path via skills assessment for the 482/189. The VETASSESS docs are dense and the website is from 2003. Has anyone been through it for a trade? How long did it take, how much, and any "wish I'd known" tips?
